After studying English literature at the Sorbonne, she founded, in 1995 her production company, Nomadis Images. From 1997, she created Sud-Ecriture, an association that trains African and Arab screenwriters. Aside from her work in film production and teaching English literature at university, she initiated the Workshop of the Carthage Film Festival in 1992. She notably directed the festival for three editions. She is recognized for her regular presence at film festivals, as a jury member, Berlinale in 2017 or as a speaker in debates and round tables. In 2017, she was elected a permanent member of the CineMart committee. In 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited her to join its membership.
